Lydia
Mid fawn female
Breeding female (elite genetics / coloured breeding potential)
Malakai Lydia is a 6-year-old high-quality female alpaca with outstanding genetics and a pedigree built on some of Malakai’s most proven, prepotent lines. She presents with a bright, lustrous fleece and beautifully defined, consistent crimp—an excellent combination for breeders looking to lift both style and fibre quality.
Lydia’s grand dam, Malakai Leading Attraction ET, sold at a national elite auction for $28,500, reflecting the calibre behind this female line. Lydia has also demonstrated genuine coloured breeding value, having produced a solid bay black when mated to a black male. This makes her a strong option for a coloured breeder wanting to add density, structure and crimp while maintaining brightness and uniformity.
While Lydia is well suited to a breeding programme, she could also be placed as a quality female companion, provided she will live with other female alpacas in an appropriately managed herd environment.
Ideal home:
Coloured breeding programme seeking to improve density and crimp
Breeders wanting strong Malakai genetics and proven production potential
Secure fencing and appropriate shelter
Will be kept with other female alpacas (minimum of two; three preferred for welfare and stability)
Owners willing to meet routine care requirements, including shearing, vaccination, vitamin D supplementation, supplementary hay as needed, health checks and ongoing management
Alpacas can live up to 20–25 years and are a long-term commitment.
