Furphy
Black castrated male
Castrated male (retired companion / easy-keeper)
Furphy is a lovely eight-year-old solid black male alpaca who has been retired from stud duties and castrated. He is a gentle, generally timid boy who would thrive in a calm retirement setting where he can graze paddocks peacefully and enjoy a low-stress routine.
Furphy is best suited to a quiet home as a companion animal rather than an active working guardian. He would do well alongside other male alpacas.
If you do not already own alpacas, Furphy will need to be sold with one or more compatible male companions. Alpacas are herd animals and do best when kept with at least one other alpaca (three is minimum ideal) for welfare and stability.
Ideal home:
Quiet rural property or hobby farm seeking a calm paddock companion
Owners wanting a low-demand retirement alpaca
Secure fencing and appropriate shelter
Will be kept with other male alpacas (minimum of two recommended)
Owners willing to meet routine care requirements, including shearing, vaccination, vitamin D supplementation, hay as needed, health checks and ongoing management
Alpacas can live up to 20–25 years and are a long-term commitment.
